23.5.16 | Representatives of the Qindao National Laboratory for Marine Science and Technology (QNLM), the country’s largest research institute for marine sciences, visited the ZMT yesterday.

The six-strong delegation led by Kehou Pan, Professor of Marine Biology at the Ocean University of China in Qingdao and Secretary-General of the Academic Committee of QNLM, learnt about the work of the ZMT and took a closer look at the institute’s Marine Experimental Ecology (MAREE) as well as the biology and chemistry labs.

Dr. Tim Jennerjahn, head of the work group Ecological Biogeochemistry, who received the delegation, said: “Within our interdisciplinary research project ECOLOC we already work closely with partners in China to investigate the effects of environmental change on coastal ecosystems in Hainan. This visit has now offered more great opportunities to build on our coastal and marine research with China.”
