02/08/2019 | As an outcome of the recent Mangrove Future Day, organised by ZMT on June 25, the ambassador of Djibouti, his Excellence Aden Mohamed Dileita, and the Consular, Mr. Chireh Osman, invited a delegation of ZMT (Nadine Schmieder-Galfe, Prof. Dr. Martin Zimmer, Dr. Véronqiue Helfer) to meet at the Embassy in Berlin.

Intense mutual consultation of the current environmental and scientific situation in Djibouti and the mission of ZMT for scientific support and capacity-development resulted in plans for a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between ZMT and the Centre d'Etudes et de Recherche de Djibouti (CERD) as well as a ZMT delegation visiting CERD and potential future research sites (mangroves and reefs) along the coast of Djibouti later this year.
