12.01.18 | At the end of February, the German Marine Research Consortium is organising the 2nd Symposium "Coastal Marine Research" in Berlin as part of the "MARE: N - Coastal Regions" agenda process initiated by the BMBF. Under the heading "Coast in Transition", the symposium will take place from February 28 to March 2 2018 at the Umweltforum. ZMT and other marine research institutions participating in the symposium.
The event provides a forum for German coastal marine research to present research progress and future research needs on the research fields defined in the "Altona Declaration" and MARE: N and to further develop the strategic orientation of coastal marine research.
The event focuses on three topics:
- Current and future expected environmental and usage changes on coasts
- future research needs for the protection and sustainable use of coastal waters
- social and scientific constraints and challenges for coastal marine research
