17/01/2024 | On Friday, January 12, a group of students from the Blue Science research cluster, accompanied by Professors Stefan Veltel and Dietmar Zacharias from Bremen University of Applied Sciences, visited the ZMT. The excursion was intended to introduce the participants from the Biology, Shipbuilding and Marine Technology and Nautical Science and Maritime Transport degree courses to the broad spectrum of marine and maritime research and practice in the state of Bremen. Other stops on the day included MARUM, the Institute for Maritime Simulations and the Abeking and Rasmussen shipyard in Lemwerder. The ZMT presented its seawater facility with its application-oriented research on algae and jellyfish as a nutritious option for human food security.
