The North-East Tobago Unesco Man and the Biosphere Reserve as a research site for applied solutions to common challenges of Caribbean SIDS

Aljoscha Wothke is ERIC's founding director and contributed to drafting the technical documents for NE Tobago’s successful nomination as a UNESCO Man and the Biosphere (MaB) Reserve. He was the chief editor for drafting the dossiers to list Tobago’s Main Ridge Forest Reserve and NE Tobago’s Islets and Reefs as Natural National Heritage Sites. In 2021/22/23, Aljoscha undertook a situational analysis, designed a regenerative tourism strategy, drafted regenerative tourism implementation guidelines, and undertook a post project M&E evaluation for Union Island (Saint Vincent and the Grenadines). Currently, he is the technical lead in preparing the 10-year management plan for NE Tobago`s UNESCO MaB Biosphere Reserve (UNDP/UNEP), contracted as project manager and technical expert for governance and institutional strengthening of the Tobago Biosphere Management Alliance (IDB), and the supervisor for a CReW+ water and wastewater improvement project in Charlotteville, Tobago (UNEP).
