21/01/2020 | Yesterday, H.E. Prof. Dr. Kheswar Jankee, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Mauritius to the Federal Republic of Germany, and ZMT’s Scientific Director Prof. Dr. Hildegard Westphal signed a three-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) agreeing on closer collaboration. In future, ZMT and the Mauritius Oceanography Institute (MOI) intend to expand their cooperation in research and teaching and knowledge exchange. The 'Memorandum of Understanding' includes, for example, the exchange of scientists, students and technical staff in the fields of tropical marine ecology, coastal ecology and fishery ecology. The ambassador also expressed interest in ZMT’s research on ecosystem design in the field of mangrove ecology and studies on submarine groundwater discharge as well as aquaculture.
