Since January 2022, Scientific Director, Prof. Dr. Raimund Bleischwitz, and Administrative Director, Dr. Nicolas Dittert, form the management board of the Leibniz Centre for Tropical Marine Research (ZMT). By expanding the board in 2017 trough the addition of an Administrative Director, ZMT has not only strengthened its strategic development, but also introduced the dual leadership which is customary at research institutes of the Leibniz Association. Raimund Bleischwitz also hold a cooperation professorship at the University of Bremen which named him Professor of Global Ressources in Februaray 2023.

Apart from supporting the management, the directorate team is available to answer questions regarding board work, system structures (e.g. UBRA, MoUs, OSIRIS, PARROT, etc.), strategic tasks (e.g. sustainability, third-party funding, etc.), reporting (e.g. ZAP, PAKT, programme budget) and evaluation.
