01/12/2021 | ZMT's working group Complexity and Climate is amongst the organisers of a workshop on the topic of "Cloud Organization" to be held in Utrecht from May 16 to 19, 2022. They have just opend the call for abstracts which runs until January 31.

As the second workshop on the topic the scientific meeting aims to provide an interactive platform to present and discuss ongoing innovative work and open questions about organized and self-organized phenomena in clouds and convection.

The organisers from TU Delft (NL), University of Leeds (UK), Niels Bohr Institute, Copenhagen University and Jacobs University Bremen especially invite thought-provoking contributions and novel ideas based on new observational field campaigns (e.g., EUREC4A), on high resolution, large domain simulations of tropical deep and shallow convection, extreme events including mesoscale convective systems (MCS), and on conceptual models and theoretical approaches. New insight into cloud microphysical and radiative cloud properties and their influence on organization are especially welcome.
