12.5.17 | Christina Schrader, head of the MEDIA Unit at the Leibniz Centre for Tropical Marine Research (ZMT), has been elected as Vice Prasident of the »European Association of Aquatic Sciences Libraries and Information Centres« (EURASLIC). In her new role she will stand in for new President Bart Goossens (Instituut voor Natuur- en Bosonderzoek / INBO, Belgien). The results of the vote were announced this week at the EURASLIC conference hosted by ZMT.

EURASLIC is the European arm of the »International Association of Aquatic and Marine Science Libraries and Information Centres« (IAMSLIC). As an organisation of librarians and information specialists within the marine and aquatic sciences IAMSLIC offers a forum for the exchange of ideas and resources. The association also engages in lobbying work.

IAMSLIC can look back at a 40-year-long history of international collaboration. Its 280 members – one quarter of which also belong to EURASLIC – represent libraries and information centres in research institutes, universities, administration as well as non-profit and profit organisations. IAMSLIC members meet once a year, whilst the EURASLIC conference takes place every two years.
