Variation of functional traits of three mangrove species across the Galapagos archipelago

Abstract

While the spatial distribution and extent of mangrove ecosystems has been reassessed in 2019 - they identified differences in mangrove cover between the islands - a proper ecological baseline to infer adaptational strategies of mangroves is still lacking. This master thesis project investigated the trait-based ecology of three mangrove species from 13 different locations across the Galapagos archipelago.

Functional trait interdependencies were analyzed using correlation network analysis to investigate variations among and within islands...are there any differences?
