Shaping our shared future: Invitation to a workshop with CEMarin on 26 September

On Friday, 26 September 2025, the Corporation Center of Excellence in Marine Sciences (CEMarin) invites all interested ZMT colleagues and researchers with a focus on Colombia and the wider region to a mini-workshop. The event will take place from 9:00 to 12:30 hrs at The Box, Wiener Str. W7. The workshop will highlight the growing collaboration between ZMT and the Corporation Center of Excellence in Marine Sciences (CEMarin), an academic consortium linking Colombia and Germany. CEMarin works on addressing key questions in marine sciences and translating new knowledge into practical solutions.

The workshop is hosted by Andrés Osorio, the executive director of CEMarin, who will outline how the network operates, and explain opportunities to join as an Early Stage Researcher or senior researcher. He will also introduce two open calls for proposals – one specifically dedicated to ZMT–CEMarin cooperation – and showcase successful projects from recent years.

The event particularly welcomes early career and senior researchers interested in conducting research in Colombia and the region. Participants can look forward to an engaging morning session with lively discussions on the future of ZMT–CEMarin collaboration.
